The Netherlands is seen as the main originator of horticultural technology and has therefore taken the leading global position in this sector. Despite the fact that many successful horticultural companies are being started up overseas, Dutch companies would appear to be withstanding the competition from low wage regions. Innovation is therefore the keyword.
